Kerkow & Casey lose again: Tuesday, April 4, 2006

Leading Australian bowlers Kelvin Kerkow and Mark Casey have had a night they would rather forget at the Australian Open.

The pair, who both won Commonwealth Games gold medals last month, lost their respective singles games early this evening (4/4) and then were bundled out of the pairs.

With Kerkow leading for Casey, the highly-rated combination lost to Luke Aeillo and Gerard Beath 11-6, 4-9, 2-0 at the Darebin International Sports Centre in Melbourne.

Reigning pairs champions Bill Cornehls and Michael Wilks are on track for back-to-back titles after defeating Doug O’Connell and Tony Wood 7-5, 10-6.

Commonwealth Games bronze medallists Barrie Lester and Nathan Rice also advanced to the next round as did Brett Duprez and Steve Glasson.
