AERF MIXED PAIRS ARE COMING TO MELBOURNE

The opportunity to bowl on the nation’s biggest stage is about to come true for 16 lucky competitors.

During next year’s ABN AMRO Australia Open, which will once again be staged at the Darebin International Sports Centre, the AERF mixed pairs will be contested for a fourth occasion, with $60,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs.

With more than 5000 club players vying for the prestigious title, the qualifying stages are heating up, with Victoria scheduled to host the first of eight regional finals on January 6 before staging its state final at Kew Heights just a fortnight later.

Not to be outdone, Western Australia will host its state final on January 20 and 21, while New South Wales and South Australia will do likewise on January 27 and February 3.

The dates and venues for the remaining finals will be determined in the immediate future.

The Alcohol Education and Rehabilitation Foundation is an independent body, acting for both community and government, to fund groups in social, educational, research and health related activities.

The AER Foundation seeks to increase community understanding of the extent and nature of alcohol related harm and promote widespread support for a range of strategies to reduce such harm.
