History

Event background
The Australian Bowls Classic is a national event for bowlers with an intellectual disability conducted by Bowls Australia.  Teams are entered by the respective state/territory bowls association with support from AUSRAPID* and state/territory member organisations e.g. SASRAPID, Life Stream Foundation, VICSRAPID and NSWRAPID.

The Australian Bowls Classic was first organised by Bowls Australia in 2003 and was held alongside the Champion of Champions event at the Moama Bowling Club.    Since 2005, the Classic has been incorporated into the last three to four days of the premier bowls event in Australia, the Australian Open.

Competition begins Wednesday, February 18
Competition ends Saturday, February 21

Venue
Shepparton Park Bowling Club

Format
Teams can enter a maximum of 5 men and 5 women to compete in the following events;
men’s and women’s singles, men’s and women’s pairs and mixed pairs.

Teams are encouraged to have a coach and team manager.

How to enter

An entry package will be distributed to all state/territory bowls associations and AUSRAPID state/territory member organisations. It is preferred that state/territory bowling associations select and enter teams.  For further information contact your state/territory bowls association or AUSRAPID member organisation, click here for contact list.

Where a State/Territory Bowling association is unable to enter teams, consideration will be given to an individual entry in special circumstances.
