Every club in Australia is invited to participate in the nation’s biggest mixed pairs competition

The 2011 AER Foundation Mixed Pairs Challenge
Now in its sixth year, the AER Foundation Mixed Pairs Challenge has been created specifically for the club bowler and gives all bowlers throughout Australia the opportunity to participate in a high profile bowls event whilst competing on their own club greens.

The AER Foundation Mixed Pairs Challenge is about participation and enjoying the sport of lawn bowls.  All bowlers have the opportunity to enter the event at club level and then progress to regional, state and national finals to play alongside Australia’s elite bowlers during the 2011 Australian Open.

Register your club now to be part of this national club based event.

Club competition
Clubs are invited to conduct a club based first round of the AER Foundation Mixed Pairs Challenge.

Clubs must first register with the event office by completing and returning the accompanying club application form.

Why not brand your regular mixed pairs event as the AER Foundation Mixed Pairs Challenge.

Clubs must register a minimum of four pairs to constitute a bona fide competition and to qualify a winning pair for the regional finals.

Upon registration an event operational kit will be forwarded to each participating club.  This will contain:

  • Promotional posters – to help promote the event to your members and guests
  • Player entry sheets – place it on your members notice board to enable players to enter the event.
  • Result sheet – to be completed when your club has finished its competition

Format
The AER Foundation Mixed Pairs Challenge will be staged as a mixed pairs event.
Bowlers must be members of a club affiliated with the relevant state or territory associations, Bowls Australia, or any other national body which is a member of World Bowls.

Pairs must be members of the same club.

At club level, the competition format will be determined by individual participating clubs.  At the regional, state and national finals the format will be played as sets play, three bowl pairs.
